REHABILITATE (1) 225T POWERHOUSE CRANE AT USACE DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies rehabilitated (1) existing powerhouse crane at Walter F. George Dam. Basic work scope was to supply all new motors, brakes, reducers, sheaves, controls, wiring, festoons, operator cab & chair, load cells and state-of-the-art controls. New controls have a cab mounted, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. Crane is also radio controlled. All walkways and access ladders were updated to current OSHA compliance.

75 TON 126’ SPAN BRIDGE CRANE WITH 60’ SPAN SECONDARY BRIDGE FOR A U.S. ARMY DEPOT

Advanced Crane Technologies provided and installed a new custom designed 75T capacity 126’ span three level bridge crane. This specialized crane consists of (2) 37.5T capacity trolleys which operate on a 60’-0” span 75T capacity secondary bridge which operates on a 126’-0” span 75T capacity primary bridge. The new 75T capacity crane was designed to NAVFAC specifications with a new state-of-the-art control system. The new crane is CMAA class “D” rated and designed for outdoor service with 45’ of available lift. Unique features include: Enclosed air conditioned/heated cab with armrest controllers; Full length walkways on all (4) girders; (10) 400 watt flood lights; (8) Rail clamps, (2) on each trolley and (2) on each bridge; (2) Spreader beams; (2) Load test weights with rigging for up to 131% load test Additional work scope on this project included: Reconditioning of the existing 700’ long, 30’ high runway structure; Blasting and repainting of the existing runway structure; provided a runway alignment survey and realigned the existing runway rail replacing approx. 1/3 of the rail clips; Replace the existing 700’ long runway conductor system with a new 500 amp (4) bar system; Removal of the existing 60T rated crane; Removal and disposal of lead paint and asbesots material; crane testing and operational training.

REHABILITATE 60T PORTAL CRANES AT VARIOUS U.S. NAVY SHIPYARDS

Advanced Crane Technologies is working on a multi-year, multi-award contract to upgrade up to 14, 1980’s vintage Craft-Am Clyde portal cranes for the U.S. Navy at various shipyards around the country. Work includes new operators’ controls & chair, load cells and state-of-the-art controls. New controls have a cab mounted color touch screen that displays the hook load, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. ACT is also performing various mechanical upgrades to the cranes including new limit switches, EPA compliant generator sets, rail lubrication systems and 3m diameter drum mounted disk brake system on some of the cranes whip hoists.

NEW BARGE MOUNTED 40/10T OET CRANE FOR NAVAL SHIPYARD

Advanced Crane Technologies provided a new custom designed 40/10T capacity 77’-10.5” span OET bridge crane. This specialized crane will be installed on a new barge being built for a Naval shipyard. The new 40T bridge crane is designed to operate in up to sea state “3” conditions. The trolley has a rack and pinion drive along each girder due to the sea state “3” requirement. The new 40/10T capacity crane was designed to NAVFAC specifications with a new state-of-the-art control system. The new crane is CMAA class “D” rated and designed for outdoor service with 115’ of available lift, and can reach 60’ under water. Unique features include: Radio control system; Full length walkways on (1) girder; (3) 1000 watt flood lights; marine environment, adjustable bridge guide rollers, barrel coupling on drums, load scale system, oversized drives and motors, centralized lub system, end travel limit siwthces, and special epoxy paint. Additional work scope on this project include new 105 # runway rails, rail clips, splice bars, 250 amp 4-bar runway conductor system with support brackets, runway storm pins, runway rail alignment survey, site supervisor for reassembly and installation of crane; crane testing and operational training.

REHABILITATE (2) 350T POWERHOUSE BRIDGE CRANES AT PRIEST RAPIDS DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies supplied all new motors, brakes, controls, wiring, festoons, operator cabs & chairs, adding, load cells and state-of-the-art controls for matching the (4) main hoists for shared lifting even though the hoist drums are different diameters. After modernization, one operator will be able to operate both cranes from one cab. New controls have a cab mounted 15” color touch screen that displays the hook load, hook height above the floor, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. Both cranes are also radio controlled. EQUIPMENT RATING (2) seven-motion cranes w/ (4) 175T main hoists & (4) 30T aux. hoists 700T total combined rating (to lift rotors)

REHABILITATE (3) USACE POWERHOUSE CRANES AT VARIOUS DAMS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTH EAST UNITED STATES

Advanced Crane Technologies rehabilitated (3) existing powerhouse cranes at 3 different locations. Basic work scope is similar but will vary between cranes. Advanced Crane Technologies supplied all new motors, brakes, reducers, sheaves, controls, wiring, festoons, operator cab & chair, load cells and state-of-the-art controls. New controls have a cab mounted, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. Cranes are also radio controlled. Additionally ACT added new cabs and operator chairs to some of the cranes. Walkways and access ladders were updated to current OSHA compliance. EQUIPMENT RATING 400T Carters Dam 50T Philpott Dam 150T West Point Dam

30T & 40T TROLLEY REPLACEMENT AT A NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER

Provide (1) 40-ton and (1) 30-ton overhead electric traveling trolley to replace the existing trollies in the anechoic chambers at a Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Aircraft Division, for the Navy Crane Center. The trolley units are used to hang heavy loads (some valued over $100M) statically for a long period of time after the loads are lifted to a required height. Naval Air Warfare Center personnel are required to work around and briefly under the suspended load to hook up equipment. The new trolley units were designed with single failure proof features and design factor that provide maximum safety against inadvertent load lowering. Single failure proof features include: -Hook design safety factor of 6:1 on yield -Dual load path wire rope reeving system -Disc brake acting directly on the wire rope drum -Broken shaft detection system to detect hoist drive train issues -Unbalanced load limit detection system at the equalizer bar -Drum pawl engagement system to hold the load Removal of obsolete trolleys and installation of the new trolleys was extremely difficult

175/25T BRIDGE CRANE MODERNIZATION VEHICAL ASSEMBLY BUILDING KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

ACT Provided a new state-of-the-art crane control system, motors and brakes to modernize NASA’s 50 year old bridge crane used for assembling rockets and components for space flight. ACT also replace the operators cab, operators’ station, all new wire and conduit system, and hook rotate drive. Additionally ACT added a new power driven cable reel, new trolley power tracks, new safety features like over-wrapping detection, load cell systems and bridge and trolley anti-skewing detection and control. ACT also updated walkways, ladders and stairs on the crane to current OSHA safety standards. The new control system utilizes an “active front end” to regenerate electricity back into the grid while lowering loads which not only eliminates troublesome dynamic braking resistors, but offers a “green” solution for power use at the Space Center. This new control system can precisely move and spot heavy loads to within just a few thousandths of an inch. Single failure proof features include: -PLC control with a SIS, and PES “watch dog” control systems -Dual 24” HD operators control screens -Broken shaft detection system to detect hoist drive train issues -Unbalanced load limit detection system at the equalizer bar -Extensive diagnostics and data logging -Extensive redundancy in each motion to allow for “safeing” the load in the event of a single component failure. Due to the extreme height of the crane in the building ACT lowered the complete crane to the ground to perform this work creating a much safer and efficient work area.

REHABILITATE (2) 45 LT CONTAINER CRANES FOR THE U.S. NAVY

Advanced Crane Technologies is working on a contract to upgrade 2, 1990’s vintage IMPSA container cranes for the U.S. Navy. Work includes new state-of-the-art control systems. The new controls have a cab mounted color touch screen that displays the hook load, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. ACT is also performing various other upgrades to the cranes including new reducers, HVAC systems, spreader bar repairs, new lightning protection systems, LED lighting, rebuilding brakes, refurbishing hydraulic cylinders, new festoon, motor refurbishment, and various structural repairs.

REHABILITATE 50T TAILRACE GANTRY CRANE AT USACE DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies provided a new custom designed 50/5T trolley to replace the existing USACE trolley, including full calculations & documentation. Advanced Crane Technologies also completely replaced the electrical & control system on the crane, provided & installed a new diesel generator set, cable reel, storm brakes, gantry drives, gearing, & structural repairs. The operators cab was removed, modernized, and re-installed. A closed circuit TV system was also added to enhance safety.

20 TON DRAFT TUBE GANTRY CRANE REFURBISHMENT AT USACE DAM

Work consisted of design, material procurement, fabrication, assembly, shipping; installation, start-up, load testing, and operator training. ACT provided all project management, design, drawings, submittals, manufacturing management, quality control, procurements, electrical administration, scheduling, field supervision, and all other contractual requirements per the specification provided by the customer. Unique features of the crane include: -Demolition of original machinery house canopy -Design and install new platforms, handrails and safety gage -Abatement and repaint -New runway conductor system with ground full length of the tailrace deck -Close hook approaches and hook coverage. Limited room inside of building for crane erection. -All controls were AC variable frequency drives.

SUPPLY NEW 40T TAILRACE GANTRY CRANE AT USACE DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies provided a new custom designed 3 motion 40T Gantry crane to replace the existing USACE 35T gantry crane, including full calculations & documentation. Advanced Crane Technologies supplied a state of the art electrical & control system on the crane, fully enclosed trolley, cable reel, storm brakes and load cell system. The operators cab is almost entirely glass to enhance visibility and safety.

REHABILITATE 60T POWERHOUSE BRIDGE CRANE AT USACE DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies supplied all new motors, brakes, reducers, sheaves, controls, wiring, festoons, operator cab & chair, added, load cells and state-of-the-art controls. New controls have a cab mounted color touch screen that displays the hook load, hook height above the floor, trolley positions, crane status, diagnostics, alarms, etc. Crane is also radio controlled. CRANE TESTING: All (5) motion were completely tested to ensure corret opertaion and control requirements. Main hoists were load tested at 50%, 100%, and 125% capacity. A complete set of motor and control readings were taken at each load test level. The readings taken at each speed point for each motion consisted of volts, amps, frequency, and RPMs. TRAINING: Operational and maintenance training was provided. (2) Complete days, covering mechanical equipment, crane drives, and control system.

MONORAIL CRANE FOR SPILLWAY

NEW 10T MONORAIL CRANE FOR SPILLWAY AT USACE DAM

Replace existing 10 Ton rated monorail crane system with new “state of the art” equipment and control system, the following equipment was supplied and installed as part of this contract: New monorail crane custom designed per U S Army Corp of Engineers specifications. All new V.F.D. controls on both hoist and trolley motion. New control also includes radio control operation. Load cells for overload protection were provided at both dead end connections. New 42’-5” long spreader beam designed to operate with the new monorail crane and attach to the existing stop logs. The new spreader beam has a total capacity rating of 10 Tons or 5 Tons on each of its (2) hooks. New monorail feed rail system. This continuous copper bar system has four (4) conductor bars each rated for 250 amp. The total length of the new feed rail system was 760’ for each bar. This equipment is located under a state road with limited access. The monorail system travels over 14 spillway gates spaced at 48’-0’’ centers.

Advanced Crane Technologies replaced the existing 10 Ton rated monorail crane system with new “state of the art” equipment and control system, the following equipment was supplied and installed as part of this contract. New monorail crane custom designed per U S Army Corp of Engineers specifications. All new V.F.D. controls on both hoist and trolley motion. New control also includes radio control operation with a push button pendant back-up. Load cells for overload protection were provided at both dead end connections. New 42’-5” long spreader beam designed to operate with the new monorail crane and attach to the existing stop logs. The new spreader beam has a total capacity rating of 10 Tons or 5 Tons on each of its (2) hooks. New monorail feed rail system. This continuous copper bar system has four (4) conductor bars each rated for 250 amp. The total length of the new feed rail system is 1,405’ for each bar. This equipment is located under a state road with very limited access to get new equipment in and old equipment out. The monorail system travels over 28 spillway gates spaced at 49’-0’’ centers.

NEW 12T MONORAIL CRANE, SPREADER BEAM & FEED RAIL SYSTEM FOR SPILLWAY ON A USACE DAM

Replace existing 10 Ton rated monorail crane system with a new 12T capacity monorail system with “state of the art” equipment and control, the following equipment was supplied and installed as part of this contract. New 12T capacity monorail crane custom designed to US Army Corp of Engineers specifications. All new V.F.D. controls on both hoist and monorail motion. New control also includes radio control operation with a push button pendant back-up. Load cells for overload protection were provided at both dead end connections. New 42’-8” long spreader beam designed to operate with the new monorail crane and attach to the existing stop logs. New monorail feed rail system. This continuous copper bar system has four (4) conductor bars each rated for 250 amp. The total length of the new feed rail system is 1,033’ for each bar. This equipment is located under a state road with very limited access to get new equipment in and old equipment out. The monorail system travels over 21 spillway gates spaced at 48’-0’’ centers.

NEW 40T CONTAINER HANDLING BRIDGE CRANE & RUNWAY AT TRANSPORTATION SECURITY LABORATORY

Advanced Crane Technologies provided and installed a new custom 40T container handling bridge crane and runway, capable of handling 20’ to 40’ long ISO shipping containers. The crane is designed for CMAA 70, Class “D”, outdoor service, and complies with all applicable NEC, ASME, and OSHA requirements for Overhead Electric Traveling Cranes. Hoist design: ASME HST-4 duty, with 16 part true Anti-Sway / Anti-Rotate reeving designed to maintain spreader bar level to ground at all times. Control System is variable frequency for all motions, controlled by handheld radio control transmitter with integrated control for the spreader bar, and back-up push button pendant on separate festoon system. Bridge & trolley limit switches provided to prevent crane from exceeding safe limits of travel. The freestanding runway structure is designed to support the crane and load and will be designed to AISC standards.

SUPPLY NEW 45T TAILRACE GANTRY CRANE AT USACE DAM

Advanced Crane Technologies provided a new custom designed 2 motion 45T Gantry crane to replace the existing USACE 25T gantry crane, including full calculations & documentation. Advanced Crane Technologies supplied a state of the art electrical & control system on the crane, fully enclosed machinery house, cable reel, storm brakes and load cell system and lifting beam. This crane also features energy efficient LED lighting.

REHAB BRIDGE DRIVE TRUCKS - 430T USACE POWERHOUSE CRANE

Advanced Crane Technologies supplied new bearings, gears and gear guards to replace failed and missing gearing for the crane which was “down” during an outage. ACT mobilized and removed the drive trucks to our machine shop for re-building. ACT supplied new gears, pinions, gear guards, and bearings. Upon inspection it was noted that the wheel bores and wheel diameters were not correct. ACT corrected these deficiencies and returned the truck to service in the original schedule to support the rotor contractor working in the powerhouse. As part of this repair contract ACT also corrected issues with the end trucks interfering with the bridge structure during equalization, and repaired, corrected, and re-calibrated the load cell system on the crane including providing 180 tons of test weights.

Advanced Crane Technologies provided the design, material procurement, fabrication, assembly, shipping; installation, start-up, load testing, and operator training to supply a new 20/5 ton OET crane. We also handled all project management, design, drawings, submittals, manufacturing management, quality control, procurements, electrical administration, scheduling, field supervision, and all other contractual requirements per the specification provided by the customer. Unique features of the crane include: 8 wheel crane design to keep max wheel loads below the allowable loading for the new crane runway. New runway conductor system with ground full length of new building Close hook approaches and hook coverage. Limited room inside of building for crane erection. All controls were AC variable frequency drives. Crane rated for Class CMAA “D’ service.
